This is an old revision of the document!

Welcome to the 3800 Wiki Page

This site is totally new so there's not much to see yet! Come check it out later!

I've created this site to be a gathering of tons of information from across a lot of the 3800 forums. This whole entire website was created to collect and document any information about the 3800 that is possible. As far as I know, this is the first wiki site dedicated completely to one engine.

There's a ton of information spread across tons of dying forums that needs to be scraped and saved.
Back in the early 2000's the internet exploded with tons of different 3800-focused forums. This resulted in a huge range of knowledge silos across different platforms and geo-locations.
There has also been a lot of information out there has not turned out to be as true as people once thought sadly. We are learning more and more all the time about what the limits are of these engines as well as the platforms they were contained in.

I'm creating this site to be a place where people can share the knowledge that they have and help make information about these motors easier to find. Information will no longer need to rely on external image hosting services, this site will be a self-sustained entity where images will never disappear unintentionally.

I'm going to continue working on this soon, but if you would like to contribute or help out please email me at siteadmin@3800wiki.com. I'd like to find good people that can help edit this. There is a lot to do still.

The automotive community is lost in a sea of LS-powered hot rods, 2JZ fanboys, Skyline R34 dreamers, and stanced-out vapers. Your automotive friends cry out for some variety among this sea of normality… and here I present an opportunity for you to show it to them.
The 3800 was the promised hero that the automotive world dismisssed from the mainstream, it was drowned by a sea of cheap rear wheel drive v8 power, ignored for its front wheel drive platform, betrayed by the inefficiency of its supercharger, and left to soak in its heat without an intercooler to keep it cool.
The promised one was left only to forgotten.
It holds no recognition on the east nor west coasts. It is not known by many top names in the automotive world.
You know the truth though…

It is the hero the community needs and the hero it deserves… Yet it was left pass away….
But you know very well that the 3800 forgives… You can forgo your oil changes, ignore your necessary maintenance, and you know it's the hero you need because it can take it.

With its bullet-proof stock bottom end and gloriously terrible exhaust note it has the potential to rise out from the ashes as a triumphant breath of fresh air.
But you can only seize this potential if you forget what you know about it!
Forget your front wheel drive Grand Prix
Cast aside your M90 superchargers!
You must lay down your front wheel drive platform, abondon the inefficient supercharger, plant your 3800 longitudinally into your rear wheel drive car.
Then and only then can you finally seize the throne of rear wheel drive turbocharged 3800 ecstasy that belongs to you and your 3800!
