The T5 transmission is a pretty well known transmission since it was used a pretty wide variety of vehicles. One of the cars that the T5 was best known for was the Mustang.

The T5 behind the 3800 in the F-body's is a world class version so it is a fairly decent version of the T5, though it is still very weak.

The bellhousing for the 3800's T5 was tilted 17* towards the driver. This makes the bellhousing a bit less than ideal for swaps into other vehicles.

The 3800 version of the T5 has been very difficult to find information about. Here is what is known though:
